BBC crime drama This City Is Ours production
Overview
The BBC crime drama ‘This City Is Ours’, a series set in Liverpool and Merseyside, has seen significant viewership success. Following the first season, which focused on the Ronnie Phelan crime family and tensions regarding succession and cocaine smuggling, the BBC has commissioned a third series ahead of the release of the second season.
The upcoming second season follows characters, including Michael Kavanagh, who attempted to leave the criminal underworld for personal reasons but are drawn back into the Liverpool drug trade following a hit-and-run involving a Colombian drug lord. Lead actor James Nelson-Joyce has described the upcoming series finale as ‘shocking’.
