Bíborfehér cake to be available for home delivery in Hungary

The winning dessert of the 20th annual ‘Magyarország Tortája’ (Cake of Hungary) competition, named ‘Bíborfehér’, will be available for home delivery starting August 22. The cake is being produced by Kemenes Cukrász Manufaktúra using the original award-winning recipe.

Created by pastry chefs László Balogh, Zoltán Balogh, and Roland Kis from Gyulai Kézműves Cukrászda, the dessert features forest berries, blackcurrant wine, roasted almonds, sour cream mousse, curd, chocolate, vanilla, and lemon. The competition, held in connection with the August 20 national holiday, saw a professional jury select six finalists from 36 entries.

The online retailer Kifli.hu will offer the cake in three-slice packages, making it accessible to customers across more than 300 settlements. This move follows a significant increase in demand for cake slices on the platform, which saw a 150 percent rise in sales over the past year.
