BC Conservative leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay touts party unity after Penticton retreat
British Columbia Conservative Party leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay said her caucus is unified and ready to engage with voters following a retreat at the Penticton Lakeside Resort and Conference Centre. The comment came after her May 30 victory in the party’s leadership race and was delivered in her second media scrum since taking the helm.
Findlay addressed recent floor‑crossings, noting that MLA Amelia Boultbee has joined the governing NDP while independent MLA Tara Armstrong’s future affiliation remains unclear. She, who does not currently hold a legislative seat, expressed a desire to enter the legislature through a by‑election. The leader also raised provincial issues, questioning the route of Alberta’s proposed pipeline and urging a “western alliance” to eliminate inter‑provincial trade barriers.
