The British Columbia Conservative Party is facing a significant leadership and caucus crisis under new leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay. Multiple Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) have departed the party in recent weeks, reducing the Conservative caucus from 44 members to 35.

Key departures include Ian Paton and Peter Milobar, who intend to form a new centrist political party. Other MLAs leaving to sit as Independents include Rosalyn Bird and Teresa Wat. Wat cited concerns regarding the party's direction and alleged unfounded accusations made by Findlay.

In response to the departures, Findlay has implemented a shuffle of critic roles. Gavin Dew has been appointed Finance critic, replacing Milobar, while Bruce Banman has taken over the Agriculture portfolio from Paton. Additionally, Reann Gasper is resigning her position to facilitate a byelection for Findlay, transitioning to the role of deputy chief of staff. Misty Van Popta will serve as deputy whip, and Scott McInnis will lead caucus policy development.
