BC Transit announces fare increases and service changes for Fraser Valley

BC Transit, in coordination with the cities of Abbotsford, Mission, and Chilliwack, has announced upcoming service and fare changes for the Fraser Valley region, effective September 2026.

Starting September 6, 2026, single ride fares in Abbotsford and Mission will increase from $2.50 to $2.75, while the DayPASS will rise from $5.00 to $5.50. In Chilliwack, single ride fares for conventional and handyDART riders will increase from $2.25 to $2.50.

Service adjustments include the reopening of the Highstreet Mall Exchange, which will allow Route 21 Aldergrove/Abbotsford to provide better connections to several other routes. Additionally, several routes will be reintroduced or modified for the fall school semester, including Route 22 East Townline, Route 24 Centre Loop, and Route 26 Sandy Hill/Bourquin. Some seasonal changes will also take effect, such as the discontinuation of service on Route 56 Cultus Lake and Sunday service on Route 71 Agassiz-Harrison.
