BCR and Erste Group finance Scatec’s 77 MW Urleasca wind farm
Banca Comercială Română (BCR) and Erste Group have provided 132 million euros in financing for the construction of the 77 MW Urleasca onshore wind farm in Romania. Developed by Scatec ASA, the project marks Scatec’s first onshore wind project in Europe.
Of the total financing, BCR is contributing 76 million euros. This follows a previous 42.5 million euro financing provided by BCR for Scatec’s 190 MW Dobrun and Sadova solar portfolio. The Urleasca project is supported by a Contract-for-Difference (CfD) covering approximately 57% of its estimated production, with the remaining energy to be sold on the Romanian wholesale market.
Scatec maintains 100% ownership of the project. OX2 will manage the construction phase through to commissioning, while Scatec will handle operations, maintenance, and asset management. The project is targeted to reach its commercial operations date in the second half of 2028.
