Beatrix of the Netherlands to be featured in upcoming film
A new film project is in development focusing on the life of former Dutch Queen Beatrix. Produced by Millstreet and in collaboration with Beta Film, the production is expected to center on her life around the year 2000, exploring the pressures of the monarchy and her personal connection to the arts. The film is tentatively scheduled for release in late 2027.
This project is part of a growing trend in European media for royal-themed content, following the success of series like ‘The Crown’ and ‘Máxima’. Other upcoming productions include a spin-off of the ‘Máxima’ series centered on Mabel Wisse Smit, and a series about the life and love story of Swedish Queen Silvia, set to air on Prime Video and Sat. 1.
