The murder trial of former NSW police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon has entered its fourth day in the NSW Supreme Court. Lamarre-Condon is accused of the February 2024 shootings of Jesse Baird, a television presenter, and his partner Luke Davies in Paddington, Sydney.

The prosecution alleges that Lamarre-Condon, driven by an obsessive infatuation with Baird, planned the murders. Evidence presented includes CCTV footage of the accused purchasing a large surfboard cover two days before the killings, during which he allegedly asked a friend if a person would fit inside the bag. Witnesses also testified that Baird had become ‘petrified’ of Lamarre-Condon due to stalking and controlling behavior.

Lamarre-Condon has pleaded not guilty to both counts of murder. His defense maintains that the shootings occurred in self-defense during two separate violent struggles. The defense argues that Lamarre-Condon entered the residence to retrieve jewelry and was wearing a disguise to avoid an embarrassing encounter with Baird.
