Bedoes' Rolex Gift to Fan at Bielsko-Biała Festival Sparks Tax Bill

During the Rap Południe festival in Bielsko‑Biała on 2 August, Polish rapper Bedoes (Borys Przybylski) handed a fan a Rolex Datejust watch and urged her to sell it. Tax experts said the watch is a taxable donation because the giver and recipient are unrelated persons. Under Polish law the tax‑free allowance for such gifts is 5 733 zł; any amount above that is taxed progressively, up to 20 % for values exceeding 23 665 zł.

If the watch is valued at about 35 000 zł, the fan would owe roughly 4 400 zł in tax; at a 70 000 zł valuation the liability could rise to around 11 400 zł. The recipient must file an SD‑3 declaration with the tax office within a month of receiving the gift.
