At the Rap Południe festival in Bielsko‑Biała on 2 August 2026, Polish rapper Bedoes paused his set to hand a fan a Rolex Datejust watch and a T‑shirt, urging her to sell the watch and use the proceeds for her dreams. The moment was widely shared on social media, with the fan expressing gratitude and Bedoes later reposting the gesture on Instagram while apologising to his collective for giving away one of his few watches. The incident followed a nine‑day charity livestream the rapper co‑hosted in April, which raised nearly 293 million zł for the Cancer Fighters foundation.

Within days, tax experts noted that the giveaway could trigger a taxable donation under Polish law. The tax‑free allowance for gifts between unrelated persons is 5 733 zł; any amount above that is subject to progressive rates up to 20 % for values over 23 665 zł. Valuing the Rolex at roughly 35 000 zł would create a tax bill of about 4 400 zł for the fan, while a higher valuation could raise the liability to over 11 000 zł. The recipient must file an SD‑3 declaration with the tax office within a month of receiving the gift.
