Beetaloo Basin gas plant begins commissioning in Northern Territory

Formentera Partners and Daly Waters Energy have announced the commencement of natural gas commissioning at the Sturt Plateau Compression Facility (SPCF) in Australia’s Beetaloo Basin. The facility serves as the final infrastructure component required to enable natural gas sales to businesses and residents in the Northern Territory.

The SPCF is a 50/50 joint venture between Daly Waters Energy and Tamboran Resources Corporation. The plant has a nameplate capacity of 48.5 MMcf/d, with 38.8 MMcf/d contracted to the Northern Territory Government under a take-or-pay agreement lasting up to 15 years. The project was completed on schedule and within a gross budget of US$99 million. Currently, five wells on the Shenandoah South 2 pad are tied back to the plant, while three additional wells are being drilled.
