This pipeline is intended to connect the Carpentaria Gas project to Darwin demand centres, including the Beetaloo Digital site, potentially utilizing the Northern Territory Government’s Territory Energy Link common-user infrastructure corridor. In August 2026, Formentera Partners and Daly Waters Energy announced the commencement of natural gas commissioning at the Sturt Plateau Compression Facility (SPCF) in the Beetaloo Basin. A 50/50 joint venture between Daly Waters Energy and Tamboran Resources Corporation, the SPCF has a nameplate capacity of 48.5 MMcf/d. Under a take-or-pay agreement lasting up to 15 years, 38.8 MMcf/d is contracted to the Northern Territory Government. The US$99 million project was completed on schedule, with five wells currently tied back to the plant. By September 2026, gas production officially commenced in the Beetaloo Basin, an onshore reserve estimated by the Northern Territory government to hold 430 trillion cubic feet of gas.
