Beetaloo Energy partners with Halliburton on AI‑powered gas‑to‑data‑centre project in Australia
Beetaloo Energy Australia Ltd has signed a non‑binding memorandum of understanding with Halliburton to develop the "Beetaloo Digital" project in the Northern Territory. The initiative will use gas from the Beetaloo Basin to power a dedicated data‑centre hub at a 185‑hectare site in Weddell, just outside Darwin, reducing reliance on the existing NT electricity grid. Halliburton will provide subsurface consulting, field‑development planning, drilling services and modular gas‑fired power solutions for hyperscale data centres and AI infrastructure. The Northern Territory Government has granted Beetaloo exclusivity over the Weddell location. The partnership, valued at about US$26 billion (A$37 billion), aims to deliver baseload electricity for the region while supporting the rapid growth of data‑centre and AI facilities across the Asia‑Pacific.
