Begoña Gómez legal case heads toward trial

The legal case against Begoña Gómez, wife of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, is moving toward trial. Gómez faces allegations of influence peddling and misappropriation of funds.

Defense attorney Jaime Campaner has requested additional time to complete expert analysis, noting that ten storage devices containing relevant documentation were not included in previous investigations. The defense strategy involves calling approximately thirty witnesses and four experts to contest suspicions regarding her professorship at the Complutense University and the development of related software. A technical report from systems and telecommunications engineer José Luis Rivas López is expected to be presented during the proceedings.
