Beijing to host second World Humanoid Robot Games with record participation

The second World Humanoid Robot Games is scheduled to take place in Beijing from August 22 to 26. Organizers report a significant increase in scale compared to the inaugural event, with robot participation quadrupling to 2,056 machines. The competition features 666 teams representing 16 countries across six continents.

Participants include teams from major robotics hubs such as the United States, Germany, and Japan, as well as a national squad from Brazil. Within China, the event involves 641 teams, 157 enterprises, and 200 universities and research institutes.

The games consist of over 30 competitive disciplines, including long jump, weightlifting, tug-of-war, and table tennis, designed to test movement control and structural design. Additionally, scenario-based competitions will test robots in real-world settings such as factories, hotels, homes, and logistics centers, focusing on tasks like assembly, emergency response, and domestic chores.
