Beisia partners with Too Good To Go to reduce food loss
Beisia has partnered with Too Good To Go Japan to implement a food loss reduction service starting September 28, 2026. The initiative will launch at three locations across Tokyo and Saitama: the Beisia Ome Inter store, Beisia Town Shin-Sayama store, and Beisia Hidaka Mall store.
Through the Too Good To Go app, customers can purchase ‘surprise bags’ containing surplus food items such as bread, deli goods, groceries, and desserts at a discounted price. These bags, which typically contain items valued at 1,000 yen, will be sold for 500 yen. The specific contents and availability will vary daily based on the surplus stock at each location.
This collaboration aims to reduce food waste caused by unpredictable demand and weather changes while providing customers with a new, cost-effective shopping experience. The move aligns with Beisia’s ongoing environmental efforts, which include reducing plastic bag use and improving logistics efficiency to lower CO2 emissions.
