Bekasi Regency and YBM PLN announce new scholarship opportunities

The Bekasi Regency Government plans to increase the quota for its 'Pasti Pintar' (Banpin) scholarship program. Currently serving 100 students, the administration aims to expand this to 200 recipients to improve access to higher education, provided regional budget capabilities allow for the increase.

Acting Regent Asep Surya Atmaja noted that the high number of applicants—over 3,400 for the 2026 cycle—highlights a significant demand for educational support. To assist students studying outside their home region, the government also provides transit houses, including a facility in Bandung.

Separately, the Yayasan Baitul Maal (YBM) PLN UID South Sumatra, Jambi, and Bengkulu has opened applications for the 'Cahaya Pintar' 2026 scholarship. This program targets elementary, middle, and high school students who demonstrate academic or non-academic achievement and require financial assistance. Applications are open from August 25 until September 3, 2026.
