Beko workers in Siena demand answers over production and investment delays
Labor unions representing workers at the Beko plant in Siena are seeking answers regarding declining production and delayed investments. Representatives from Fim, Fiom, and Uilm have raised concerns that the company is producing less than promised and shifting production to other countries, which may conflict with Golden Power commitments.
At the Siena facility, industrial activity has stalled and the workforce has been halved. Unions are looking toward an October 8 meeting at the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy to identify potential industrial entities interested in operating the site. There is also ongoing concern regarding the completion of structural environmental remediation at the facility. Currently, 148 workers remain involved in the dispute, with social safety nets set to expire on December 31, 2027.
