Bektashi community holds major religious pilgrimages in Albania

Significant religious gatherings and pilgrimages are taking place within the Bektashi community. In the Skrapar region, a traditional pilgrimage is being held alongside the consecration of the shrine of Baba Tahir Kotobelli of Prishtina. The event includes the presence of the World Leader of Bektashis, Haxhi Dede Baba Edmond Brahimaj, who leads the rites and oversees the installation of a bust dedicated to the prominent cleric.

Simultaneously, thousands of believers from Albania and abroad have gathered at Mount Tomorr for the traditional pilgrimage honoring Abaz Ali. During the peak of the festivities, Bektashi World Leader Baba Mondi emphasized the importance of unity, peace, and mutual respect, noting that the pilgrimage brings together people from diverse regions and backgrounds. Local authorities and police have implemented measures to manage the movement and ensure the security of the large crowds participating in the traditional rituals at the Kulmak Teqe.
