Belarus reactivates drone signal relays used by Russia
Ukraine has detected the reactivation of signal relay stations in Belarus that are being used to amplify and control Russian attack drones. These systems allow Russian Shahed and Gerbera drones to extend their flight range and maintain real-time control as they move deeper into western Ukrainian regions, including Rivne, Volyn, and Lviv.
Monitoring channel eRadar reported detecting four active relay stations in the areas of Khoiniki, Dzierbinki, Makhnovichy, and Buda-Safieuka. The network reportedly enables drones to reach as far as the Polish border, facilitating strikes on infrastructure such as trains and fuel stations.
This development follows a period of inactivity in June after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a warning to Alexander Lukashenko to dismantle the systems or face destruction by Ukraine. While the relays were briefly silenced following that ultimatum, Ukrainian officials, including State Border Guard Service spokesperson Andrii Demchenko, state that activity has intensified significantly since the end of last week.
