Belgorod hit by Ukrainian drones as Zelenskyy warns of Russian mobilization
Ukrainian drone strikes have hit the Russian region of Belgorod, injuring at least 13 people, including two children. Acting regional governor Alexander Shuvaev reported that the attacks damaged at least four apartment buildings, an administrative building, and several commercial objects, while one private home caught fire.
In Ukraine, intensified Russian strikes caused significant casualties and damage. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, authorities reported over 40 attacks in a single day using drones, artillery, and aerial bombs. An attack on Pavlohrad injured nine people, including four children. In the Kharkiv region, a 68-year-old man was killed by an FPV drone.
Amidst the escalation, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Vladimir Putin may be preparing an unofficial mass mobilization of hundreds of thousands of Russians to exert psychological pressure on Europe and bolster military forces. Meanwhile, Russian air defenses intercepted drones targeting Moscow, and the airport in Saransk was closed.
