Belgrade Expo 2027 Sets Record with 139 Participating Nations

The specialized World Expo 2027 will be held in Belgrade from 15 May to 15 August 2027 under the slogan “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All”. The International Bureau of Exhibitions selected Serbia three years ago, beating competitors including the United States, Spain, Thailand and Argentina.

General director Danilo Jerinić announced that 139 countries and organisations have confirmed participation – the highest number ever for a specialized Expo and the fastest‑filled exhibition to date. Two preparatory international meetings in Belgrade attracted 154 nations at the first and over 140 at the second, confirming strong global interest.

Construction of the site is accelerating, with more than 3,500 workers and over 500 machines operating daily to meet a hand‑over deadline of 1 December. The project anticipates over five million visitors and expects about 20 000 volunteers, already receiving more than 6 000 applications from over 60 countries.
