Belgrade to host high-level Non-Aligned Movement summit

Belgrade is set to host a high-level commemorative meeting on August 31 and September 1, 2026, marking the 65th anniversary of the first conference of the Non-Aligned Movement. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that numerous high-ranking officials from member and observer states will attend.

Confirmed participants include four presidents, three prime ministers, and various ministers. The gathering will feature representatives from the movement’s historical core and the current Troika, which consists of Azerbaijan, Uganda, and Uzbekistan.

The Non-Aligned Movement was established during the Cold War as an alternative to global bloc divisions. Serbia, maintaining observer status, continues to engage with the movement's principles of independence, sovereignty, and military neutrality.
