Belluno man distributes cash from briefcase to passersby

In Belluno, Italy, a homeless man identified as Haider distributed 50-euro notes to passersby after finding a briefcase filled with cash. The incident occurred near the Belluno train station, where Haider resides in a tent.

Local police intervened and recovered a total of 4,390 euros. The funds are currently being held by the Belluno City Council as authorities investigate the mysterious origin of the money. While some pedestrians accepted the cash, others alerted law enforcement.

Haider, an Iraqi national known to local social services, was unable or unwilling to explain the source of the briefcase during questioning. Marco Dal Pont, the City Councilor for Social Affairs, noted that Haider is a well-known figure in the community who has previously declined various offers of housing and food assistance.
