Belém police investigate death of entrepreneur after plastic surgery

Authorities in Belém are moving toward concluding an investigation into the death of 29-year-old entrepreneur Giovanna Coelho Gomes, who died following four plastic surgery procedures. The Medical Legal Institute (IML) report was delivered to the Civil Police on Monday, providing critical data to help determine the circumstances of her death.

The investigation includes testimony from the surgeon, André Melo, who was summoned to provide a statement. Police have also requested medical records, images, and work schedules related to the patient's care. The inquiry is expected to be finalized by the end of the week once final testimonies are recorded.
