Brazil's Enare Residency Exam Registration Closes July 29

Registrations for the 2026/2027 EnareBrazil's National Examination for Medical Residency – remain open until Monday, 29 July for specialties with direct‑access admission. The enrollment fee is R$ 330 for direct‑access specialties and R$ 220 for other professional health programs, with payment required by 6 July. Applications must be submitted through the Fundação Getúlio Vargas portal; enrollment is confirmed only after payment verification.

The 2025 edition attracted more than 138 000 candidates and offered over 12 000 residency slots at 225 hospitals, university foundations and institutes. Exams will be held on 13 September in 60 Brazilian cities, and the objective test will use the candidate’s Enamed score, integrated with Enare via the Institute of National Educational Studies and Research (Inep).

Separately, the municipality of Belo Horizonte announced a new public contest for physicians at the Municipal Health Secretariat and the Hospital Metropolitano Odilon Behrens. The Enare score will be used as an evaluation stage, marking the second use of the exam after a 2024 pilot. The official notice detailing specialties, vacancies and selection rules will be published later in 2026.
