Belt and Road Summit opens in Hong Kong with new IoT partnership
The 11th Belt and Road Summit has opened in Hong Kong, co-organized by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. The summit aims to promote high-quality development and cross-regional trade, bringing together over 100 government officials and business leaders from various Belt and Road regions.
During the summit, PCCW Global and Druid Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop one-stop IoT solutions. This collaboration will combine satellite and hybrid connectivity to serve the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, and other Belt and Road regions. The solutions are intended to support remote tracking and monitoring in sectors such as logistics, transportation, livestock farming, and environmental management in areas lacking conventional terrestrial networks.
Other agreements signed during the opening session span sectors including finance, professional services, industry, and construction, involving participants from countries such as Australia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Laos, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, and Uzbekistan.
