Nu Holdings reports record US$ 1.06 billion quarterly profit FAST-MOVING

Nu Holdings, the parent company of Nubank, reported a record quarterly net profit of US$ 1.06 billion for the second quarter of 2026. This result marks the first time the digital lender has exceeded the US$ 1 billion profit threshold in a single quarter, representing a 49% increase compared to the same period in 2025 on a foreign-exchange-neutral basis.

Key financial metrics for the quarter include a 39% increase in net revenue, reaching US$ 5.88 billion, and a 37% year-on-year growth in the credit portfolio, which now stands at US$ 39.4 billion. The company's return on equity (ROE) reached 33%. The customer base expanded to 139 million users across Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia, with approximately 118 million located in Brazil, 16 million in Mexico, and 5 million in Colombia.

Despite the record profits, the company noted an increase in delinquency rates for debts over 90 days, which reached 6.9%. Management attributed this to seasonal migration of delays from the first quarter. The company is also reportedly preparing for a potential debut on the U.S. stock market.
