Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway nears completion to boost southern logistics

The Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway, a 58km project, is entering its final stages of completion. As of September 2026, construction is over 99% complete, with current efforts focused on testing and operational procedures before full implementation.

The expressway will provide a direct connection between the Ho Chi Minh City-Trung Luong Expressway and National Highway 51, creating an east-west corridor south of Ho Chi Minh City. This infrastructure is expected to link manufacturing hubs in Long An, Ho Chi Minh City, and Dong Nai with major maritime ports and logistics centers in Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

John Campbell, Head of Industrial Real Estate Services at Savills Vietnam, noted that the project strengthens east-west connectivity across southern Vietnam, bringing industrial zones west of Ho Chi Minh City closer to large-scale infrastructure developments in the east. This development coincides with the upcoming commercial operations of Long Thanh International Airport, which is expected to begin testing in late 2026.
