Benevento hit by violent thunderstorms causing property damage

Severe thunderstorms and strong winds struck the city of Benevento, causing localized damage and traffic disruptions. While the intense weather caused material damage to roofs and building exteriors in streets such as Serao, Scotellaro, and Marotta, no injuries have been reported.

In via Meomartini, a large tree fell across the roadway, blocking traffic. Firefighters and municipal police have been working to clear the debris and restore circulation. Local authorities, including Vice Mayor Francesco De Pierro, confirmed that teams are currently removing branches and shrubs throughout the city.

The regional Civil Protection agency issued a yellow weather alert for much of the Campania region, warning of potential risks including hail, wind gusts, and hydrogeological instability such as rising water levels in minor rivers and possible landslides.
