Benevento opposition protests for Mayor Mastella's resignation

Opposition parties in Benevento organized a public demonstration, marching from the provincial library to the Prefecture to demand the resignation of Mayor Mastella and his administration.

The protest was led by a coalition including the Democratic Party (PD), Avs, Città Aperta, Civico 22, and Reformists. Participants carried signs reading “The city asks for the resignation of the Mastella Junta” and “Benevento free.”

Opposition leaders cited several grievances, including issues with traffic and parking, lack of maintenance in various neighborhoods, delays in PNRR construction projects, and problems regarding public housing. The mobilization follows recent judicial developments involving the municipal administration. Councilors argued that the current administration has lost credibility and called for a new phase of governance to allow citizens to decide the city's future.
