Benfica prepares for Alverca match amid squad selection discussions

Benfica manager Marco Silva has emphasized the importance of maintaining the team's identity and tactical control ahead of their upcoming match against Alverca at the Estádio da Luz. Silva noted that Alverca presents a unique challenge due to their tactical structure, which utilizes a three-man defensive line and offensive full-backs.

Regarding squad selection, Silva refused to establish a hierarchy between Dodi Lukebakio and Rafa for the starting lineup, stating that both players offer different characteristics and that decisions will depend on the specific strategy required for the opponent. Lukebakio has recently seen increased interest following a strong performance in the Taça da Liga.

Alverca coach Sérgio Ferreira expressed confidence in his squad's cohesion despite the absence of defenders Steven Baseya and winger André Vidigal due to suspensions. Ferreira acknowledged the difficulty of facing a high-performing Benfica side but stated his team is prepared to remain consistent and stick to their strategic plan.
