Benfica reports 19 million euro profit amid rising liabilities

Benfica's SAD reported a profit of 19 million euros for the last season, representing a 44% decrease compared to the previous year. This decline was attributed to the absence of the Club World Cup and performance levels in the Champions League.

While liabilities have risen above 500 million euros, CFO Nuno Catarino stated that assets have also surpassed 650 million euros. Catarino noted that the club expects to cover a 30 million euro revenue gap caused by failing to qualify for the Champions League without relying on player sales.

The club is also considering legal action regarding the centralization of audiovisual rights, with Catarino suggesting that certain elements could be viewed as “expropriação” (expropriation). Benfica has launched a petition to oppose this centralization process.
