Benfica winger Gianluca Prestianni attracts interest from Tottenham and Aston Villa

Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are reportedly competing for Benfica's 20-year-old Argentine winger, Gianluca Prestianni. The player has shown significant form in the 2026/27 season, recording five goals and three assists in seven league appearances.

Benfica appears prepared to resist interest from Premier League clubs by offering Prestianni a contract extension through 2030 or 2031. This new deal would include a substantial pay rise and a potential release clause reaching approximately €100 million (£86 million).

While both English clubs have scouted the player, reports suggest they may struggle to meet the high buyout option at this stage of his career. Benfica's strategy aims to either secure the player long-term or ensure a record profit upon a future sale.
