Gianluca Prestianni transfer interest and recognition

Overview

Benfica winger Gianluca Prestianni has gained significant recognition following a strong start to the 2026/27 season. The CIES Football Observatory ranked the 20-year-old Argentine as the top under-21 player playing outside of Europe’s ‘Big Five’ leagues, noting his high performance score and recent call-up to the Argentina national team.

His rising profile has led to reported interest from several major European clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, and Atletico Madrid. In response to interest from Premier League clubs, Benfica is reportedly preparing to offer Prestianni a contract extension through 2030 or 2031. This potential new deal would include a substantial pay rise and a release clause valued at approximately €100 million, a move intended to either secure the player long-term or ensure a significant profit upon a future sale.
