Bengaluru man arrested for suspected radical links via Instagram

Police in Bengaluru Rural district have arrested 25-year-old Syed Abubakar in Doddaballapura for allegedly communicating with radicalized individuals and gang-linked accounts on Instagram.

Abubakar, an AC technician who also taught at a mosque, is suspected of being in contact with an Instagram account allegedly linked to a Pakistani gang for nearly two years. Investigators report that the accused interacted with content featuring gangsters and shared his Aadhaar card details with a specific user. During the investigation, officers reportedly discovered photographs of firearms on his mobile phone and noted his interest in weapons.

A case has been registered at the Doddaballapura Town Police Station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Abubakar is currently in judicial custody as police work to identify and trace the international individuals involved in the social media communications.
