Bengaluru Metro: Pink Line approval expected soon

Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda announced that operational approval for the 7.5-km elevated Pink Line section between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere is expected within four to five days. The state government has requested the Union government to finalize an inauguration date, though no formal response has been received.

During an inspection of the Blue Line construction, the minister directed officials to expedite work on the KR Puram-Hebbal corridor to prevent further delays. The project, which connects to Kempegowda International Airport, is currently behind schedule by at least a year.

Delays have been attributed to legal hurdles regarding tree-felling permissions near KR Pura, as well as the need to relocate Cauvery water supply pipelines and underground drainage lines. Additionally, heavy traffic on the Outer Ring Road has restricted construction activities to night hours.
