Bengaluru police arrest man for alleged TTP terror conspiracy
Bengaluru police have arrested 25-year-old Asaful Mallik, a security guard originally from West Bengal, for allegedly conspiring with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to carry out retaliatory attacks against the Pakistan Army and in India.
According to police reports, Mallik established contact with Imran Ahinder, a TTP member based in Afghanistan, via Facebook. Investigators state Mallik was motivated by perceived atrocities committed by the Pakistan Army against mosques and civilians, as well as the conflict in Israel and Palestine.
Mallik had reportedly obtained a passport and applied for a visa to travel to Afghanistan to join the organization and receive training, though he was unable to make the journey. Authorities recovered audio recordings and messages from his mobile phone that allegedly confirm his intentions. A case has been registered under section 113(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for conspiracy and facilitation of terrorist acts.
