Karnataka political tensions rise amid sting operation allegations and KPSC scam prosecution

Political tensions in Karnataka have escalated following several developments involving the state government and opposition leaders. Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy has accused Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Home Minister Priyank Kharge of conspiring to implicate the Janata Dal (Secular) in an alleged sting operation targeting former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Kumaraswamy claimed the investigation is being diverted toward JD(S) workers to create an atmosphere of intimidation.

Simultaneously, the Congress high command has directed the Karnataka government to investigate alleged attempts to conduct sting operations targeting Chief Minister Shivakumar and Kerala's V D Satheesan. Shivakumar reported suspicious encounters with a businessman wearing Meta AI smart glasses who allegedly focused on political psephology rather than business.

In a separate legal development, Chief Minister Shivakumar granted prosecution sanction against jailed IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar. Gangwar is accused of involvement in a corruption case linked to the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) recruitment scam, specifically regarding irregularities in the selection of veterinary officers.
