Bengkalis Police Seize Over 10 Kilograms of Crystal Meth

Bengkalis Police (Polres Bengkalis) have conducted a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, seizing a total of 10.14 kilograms of crystal meth (sabu) during operations spanning from October 19 to November 2, 2026.

In a specific recent operation in Bantan District, authorities intercepted nearly 9 kilograms of crystal meth hidden in a backpack. This seizure led to the arrest of suspects identified as OS, T, and SB. Investigations suggest the shipment is linked to a transnational network operating between Malaysia and Riau, with suspected control by a fugitive identified as M.

Over the 19-day period, police reported arresting 50 suspects, including 49 men and one woman. In addition to the crystal meth, officers confiscated 92 ecstasy pills, 21 units of etomidate, and 171.2 grams of dried marijuana. Authorities also seized evidence valued at approximately Rp10.5 billion. Kapolres Bengkalis AKBP Eko Rubiyanto stated that suspects face various penalties, ranging from five years in prison to the death penalty.
