Bengkulu and Madiun house fires cause millions in property damage

Two separate house fires occurred in Indonesia on June 17, 2026. In Talang Indah, South Bengkulu, a house owned by Junaidi and Satri was engulfed by flames, likely sparked by an electrical short circuit. Firefighters arrived within minutes, deploying two fire‑engine units and 25 personnel, and extinguished the blaze in about 15 minutes. No injuries were reported, and material losses were estimated at around Rp200 million.

Later that night in Kebonsari, Madiun, a house belonging to Anas Rukin also burned, with authorities attributing the fire to a possible short circuit. The fire was tackled by a single fire‑engine unit and was fully extinguished after more than an hour. The incident caused approximately Rp150 million in damage, with no fatalities and only minor injuries reported. Both incidents highlight the risk of electrical faults causing significant residential losses.
