Benidorm and Cádiz sign multi‑million municipal service contracts

The Benidorm city council is set to award a new cleaning and basic‑maintenance contract for public buildings and schools worth almost €16 million over four years. The agreement will cover more than 70 municipal facilities, including around 20 educational centres, five social centres, sports venues and cultural sites, and will also include minor repairs, locksmith, electrical and painting work.

In Cádiz, the municipal government approved a €212 million, 12‑year plan to overhaul its bus network. The program adds two new circular lines, increases the frequency of existing routes, expands the fleet from 48 to 60 vehicles and replaces diesel buses with hybrids. It also introduces onboard card payments, a real‑time service app, and a weekend night service, while raising staff numbers from roughly 115 to 150 drivers. Both contracts aim to improve public services and operational efficiency for their respective cities.
