Benidorm PSOE accuses PP government of privatizing municipal services

The Socialist Party (PSOE) in Benidorm has denounced the local People's Party (PP) government for allegedly privatizing basic municipal services instead of hiring more staff. The PSOE claims the administration has put out a tender worth 72,600 euros for painting urban furniture and public spaces through 2026.

According to the PSOE, the contract only covers labor, while the Benidorm City Council remains responsible for providing all necessary materials such as paints and varnishes. Spokesperson Cristina Escoda criticized the administration of Toni Pérez, arguing that public funds are being diverted to external companies rather than filling vacant positions within the Municipal Technical Services and maintenance brigades.
