Benjamin Netanyahu Secures 10 Guaranteed Likud Knesset Slots Ahead of Primary

Likud party institutions are finalising a proposal that would guarantee Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ten positions on the party’s list for the next Knesset, with eight of those spots placed within the top‑25 slots. The arrangement is emerging from talks between Netanyahu and HaYim Katz, head of the Likud centre, and is expected to be approved by the party bodies within the coming week.

In addition to the guaranteed seats, the proposal may establish a committee to organise the party list, allowing most current Likud members to retain their positions and limiting major reshuffles. The Likud primary election is scheduled for 4 August 2026, with the voter registration deadline set for 7 July 2026.
