Netanyahu utilizes security threats to bolster political standing

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is increasingly utilizing security concerns and regional threats to bolster his political standing amid fluctuating opinion polls. As political deadlock persists in the region, military possibilities are rising, particularly regarding the Lebanese front.

Netanyahu has recently emphasized the necessity of his leadership to manage ongoing security threats. During a visit to the Tel Nof Airbase, he claimed there were signs of impending attacks by enemies of Israel before upcoming elections, warning that Israel’s “long arm” would reach them anywhere and at any time.

Analysts suggest this strategy serves to frame his political opponents as security risks and to maintain his influence within the right-wing camp. While some security officials have accused him of exploiting incomplete intelligence for electoral competition, Netanyahu continues to position himself as the essential leader capable of navigating the highly volatile regional climate involving Iran and other actors.
