Benny Safdie's A24 film 'Lizard Music' adds Alicia Silverstone and Tim Heidecker

The forthcoming A24 hybrid film *Lizard Music*, directed and written by Benny Safdie and based on Daniel Pinkwater’s 1976 novel, has expanded its cast. In addition to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who will appear as the whimsical “Chicken Man,” the production has booked Alicia Silverstone—best known as Batgirl in *Batman & Robin*—and comedian Tim Heidecker for undisclosed roles.

Safdie and Johnson are also producing the picture alongside Scott Stuber, Nick Nesbitt (UA) and David Koplan (Magnetic Fields Entertainment). The story follows a boy who discovers a hidden door to an otherworldly broadcast of lizards playing music, leading him on a journey with the Chicken Man and his 111‑year‑old chicken companion, Claudia. The film marks the feature‑debut of young actor Theo Clark Leber, and no release date has been set.
