Bensheim prepares for 88th annual Winzerfest festival

The 88th Winzerfest in Bensheim is scheduled to take place from September 5 to 13. The event, a long-standing tradition in the region since 1929, is organized by the Verkehrsverein Bensheim.

During a recent press conference, the newly appointed managing chairman of the Verkehrsverein, Max Scharf, and Mayor Christine Klein presented the festival program. Scharf, who recently succeeded Thomas Herborn, used the occasion to honor several individuals for their long-term service to the association and the festival, including Herborn and long-time secretary Hilde Deppert.

Organizers emphasized that the safety and smooth operation of the nine-day event and the festival parade will be ensured through close cooperation between the police, fire department, THW, DLRG, and various municipal and private security services. The local construction yard service (Bauhofservice) will also play a key role in the setup and maintenance of the Winzerdorf.
