BEPC exam progress in Madagascar; Guinean blind student gains diploma

In Guinea, visually‑impaired student Aboubacar Sidiki Kouyaté of the Saint‑Gabriel school in Fofoméré was admitted to the Brevet d’études du premier cycle (BEPC) for the 2026 session. He thanked his family, school staff and ministers Patricia Lamah and Alpha Bacar Barry for supporting non‑sighted students during the exam.

In Madagascar, the Antananarivo Avaradrano school district reported a 65.5 % pass rate for the BEPC 2026, up from 59.5 % in 2025. The national success rate also rose to 58.95 % compared with the previous year, a gain the Ministry of Education attributes to increased school enrollment and the expansion of school canteens.

Both stories highlight improvements in secondary‑level exam outcomes across the two countries.
