Bergamo police ban seven Ultras Italia members from stadiums

The State Police in Bergamo have concluded sanctions against seven members of the organized supporter group ‘Ultras Italia’ following intimidating behavior during an international football match between Italy and Northern Ireland. The incident occurred on March 26 at the New Balance Arena in Bergamo during a 2026 World Cup qualifier.

Based on stadium surveillance footage, the individuals were found to have surrounded and forced legitimate spectators to vacate their assigned seats, despite the group members holding tickets for different sections. This conduct caused significant distress among the crowd, which included many families and minors.

As a result, the seven individuals face a combined total of 31 years of bans from sports facilities and 10 years of mandatory check-ins. The bans apply to football matches across both Italian and European territories, covering official matches and friendlies alike.
