Bergson Da Silva receives FIFA approval to represent Malaysia

Naturalized striker Bergson Da Silva has received FIFA approval to represent the Malaysia national football team, Harimau Malaya, following five years of residency in the country. The Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) star expressed that representing the nation is a significant honor and a dream realized for him and his family.

Bergson has been named in the 23-man squad selected by coach Tan Cheng Hoe for the upcoming FIFA ASEAN Cup. The team is scheduled to travel to Jakarta on Tuesday, September 22, for final preparations before their opening match against Bangladesh on Friday.

Analysts and coach Sulaiman Hussin have highlighted the potential of a potent attacking lineup featuring Bergson alongside JDT teammates Arif Aiman Hanapi and Faisal Halim.
